- Compensation: we have set comp ranges with specific benchmarks of experience and performance:
- In-Training = $40-45/hr (you will start at this level as there is much to learn)
- Solid = $50/hr
- Senior = $55/hr
- Requirement:
- Direct experience building and optimizing operations for small businesses, ideally at the Director of Operations level or within an agency supporting a variety of business sizes/types.
- Must NOT be building/running your own operations/recruiting agency. Having your own freelance clients is fine, but it would be a conflict of interest to grow an agency/consultancy alongside of ours.
- have/could run your own business, but choose not to and prefer working within a team
- geek out on all things operations, management, building teams, and growing small businesses
- have very high mental acuity and can easily pick up on new situations and environments
- are masterful at context switching and work best when juggling multiple clients and projects

As a Strategist at Magical Teams, you're a trusted advisor, strategic partner, business manager and problem-solver, partnering with clients to optimize their operations and achieve their strategic goals. You'll work closely with founders and executives, conducting in-depth analyses, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing practical solutions.
You'll lead “pod” teams in developing and executing strategic initiatives, ensuring they stay within budget and deliver measurable results. Your ability to see the big picture and connect the dots enables you to uncover hidden opportunities, anticipate challenges, and guide clients towards sustainable growth.
You'll empower clients to make data-driven decisions and implement efficient workflows, leveraging technology and process improvements to elevate their businesses. As a strategic partner, you'll guide clients in setting ambitious goals, prioritizing initiatives, and defining key performance indicators (KPIs) for success.
Strategists typically are assigned between 4-8 clients - providing strategic guidance to the client and collaborating with your team to implement projects and participate in the operations work.
You’ll need to be equally comfortable with strategic thinking and getting into the nitty gritty of the execution.

Key Points:
- Act as Business Manager to offer guidance to clients navigating complex challenges relevant to small businesses and startups across various functions (finance, marketing, HR, etc.)
- Strategize with clients on business goals and challenges in a variety of areas.
- Provide feedback, advice, training, mentorship, and coaching to clients and their team.
- Skillfully diagnose inefficiencies, optimize processes, and implement technology solutions to maximize productivity.
- Audit their systems/processes/team and identify bottlenecks.
- See the big picture, anticipate future needs, and develop actionable roadmaps for growth by identifying root causes and crafting innovative solutions.
- Not just about ideas; you're passionate about turning strategies into action and ensuring successful execution.
- Summarize into client friendly formats recommended priorities and actionable projects/tasks.
- Execute on more advanced or high-value initiatives and projects when specific expertise is required.
- Confirm and monitor scope, priorities, budget, and set realistic timelines and expectations for the client and pod team.
- Build strong partnerships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored guidance.
- Meet with clients to draw out their needs.
- Determine structures and the best way to work together.
- Communicate progress updates and use de-escalation/conflict resolution tactics (written and verbal) when necessary.
- Facilitate meetings and various group conversations that are efficient and high value with our team and our clients and their teams.
- Utilize data and metrics to inform decision-making and measure impact.
- Keep an eye on ROI and observe/refine the best ways to support clients.
- Inspire, mentor, and empower your pod team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where everyone thrives.
- Get to know the strengths/gaps of the pod team members and mentor them directly or get them support. Be a resource to the pod team, drive creative problem solving, or escalate to other Strategists.
- Oversee the success of the pod team and all projects/tasks. Provide delegation, reviews, feedback, and quality assurance. Ensure everything is on track and step in to get things back on track when needed.

- Systems, tech migrations, digital tech tool set up, automations, databases, and nerdy optimizations.
- Processes, workflows, SOPs, documentation, and all that goes into establishing infrastructure for lean small businesses.
- Finance, cash flow, P&L, budgets, business models, revenue streams, and how to make sure a business is profitable and successful.
- Project management, project briefs, scoping, timelines, planning, and oversight.
- Metrics, KPIs, data, dashboards, analytics, and determining what numbers to track.
- Strategic planning, goal setting, milestones, annual, quarterly, and monthly.
- Team onboarding, performance reviews, accountability, and team management.
- Leadership development, delegation, empowering teams, and business coaching.
- Sales and marketing and how it works in tandem with operations. Such as: martech, value propositions, pricing / packaging, branding, creative assets, landing pages, social media, client onboarding, customer success, and managing those team members.
- Online businesses, course/program development, community building, funnels, and launches.

- You have a reliable computer and internet connection and can use video conferencing services such as Zoom.
