Purpose of Executive Assistant
The Executive Assistant is a key part of SEI’s mission and provides comprehensive support to the five-member Executive Leadership Team. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with professionalism and confidentiality.
The Executive Assistant also serves as a liaison and provides support to SEI’s Board of Directors and Advisory Committee. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with exemplary written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a balance among multiple priorities.
This is a 40-hour/week position which may work remotely if not located in Paonia, Colorado. US applicants only.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks that facilitate the Executive Leadership Team’s ability to effectively lead the organization, including managing an active calendar of appointments; composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential; maintaining contact lists; collecting and preparing information for meetings with staff, board and advisory committee; and completing special projects.
- Assist Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Board of Directors, and Advisory Committee with scheduling meetings, recording minutes, and other logistical and support services.
- Communicate with board members on a broad range of information and issues affecting the organization; schedule board meetings and events and handle all logistics; provide agendas and relevant documents in advance; record meeting minutes.
- Assist with accreditation submittals.
- Manage and maintain vendor contracts and information.
- File management
- Contract and business development support
- Other duties, research, and projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 4 years executive and board support experience
- Working knowledge of Board policies and procedures
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and navigating through seasonal surges in workload
- Trustworthy with the ability to uphold confidentiality
- A natural decision-maker, with an ability to think under pressure and display good judgment. Takes a logical, analytical approach in order to assess risks carefully, consider different options and decide on a sound course of action.
- Proven ability to take initiative where appropriate and works well with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain good attitude and sense of humor
- Energetic and able to positively interact with students and the community.
- Experience with MS Office Suite, Google Suite, Hubspot, Adobe, databases, Canva or similar, and office equipment
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Adaptable team player

Solar Energy International is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $54,000. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline and combines all of the distinct labor markets within the US. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors. SEI considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, candidate’s work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
