Senior Analyst / Special Advisor
Overview:
Join our team at Fila Group to provide support directly to the Deputy Director, Commercialization Programs for special projects, program and process design, and strategic planning. Responsibilities include supporting the development of cross-cutting strategies for the Commercialization Programs team, providing advice and support to program managers, supporting the design and execution of new programs to support Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) awardees, and working closely with the communications team to highlight key programmatic wins and milestones. The candidate will be responsible for these and other activities in support of the OTT mission.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support development and work products, to include the types of activities described below.
- Support leadership in the planning, preparation, and implementation of policies and strategies for communicating and advancing the mission of OTT. This would include working with a diverse group of outside stakeholders including DOE National Labs, Private Sector Companies, and other OTT awardees.
- Work with program leads to identify opportunities for synergies and efficiencies in supporting commercialization through OTT programs. Develop linkages between program areas, and support strategic planning for future program design.
- With relevant program managers, identify areas for ongoing support for OTT awardees and implement high-impact interventions to remedy commercialization challenges.
- In close collaboration with the OTT communications team and front office, identify ways of tracking and highlighting programmatic successes, and better communicate the commercialization impact of OTT’s programming.
Position Requirements:
- US Citizenship is required.
- Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience): 10+ years of experience working inenergy, climate, and innovation.
- Experience working in or supporting start ups and early stage companies in the process ofcommercializing new technologies.
- Strong technical or business backgrounds are preferred, including engineering, technology and/orbusiness development.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills are a must; including the ability to synthesizevolumes of data and to clearly communicate technical and/or financial ideas and concepts to widerange of audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to read and independentlyinterpret technical documents and translate complex information for non-technical audiences.
- High level of comfort with multitasking and rapidly shifting priorities.
- Strong project management and organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work. All work performed is expected to be of the highest quality in terms of accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Extensive proactive and resourceful communication skills, interpersonal, and analytical skills to answer questions from and help solve problems for a wide variety of people.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet commitments in timely fashion while maintaining quality of work and effective interface.
- Ability to fulfill duties with minimal training from federal personnel; must not represent or exhibit a conflict of interest with OTT stakeholder groups.
- Ability to interpret and implement appropriate rules, regulations, processes, and procedures of the DOE.
- Proficiency Microsoft Suite of Programs, expert usage of PowerPoint and Excel.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with strategic planning, project management, and goal setting.
- Demonstrated interest/expertise in energy, energy technologies, and sustainability.
- Experience working with both domestic and international climate-related groups including othergovernment agencies, NGOs, or multinational corporations.
- Proven experience working with the innovation community, start-up community, or entrepreneurs.
- Experience working closely with executives, C-suite leadership, and other senior staff.
- Ability to work remotely from time to time, including during the current pandemic. Position mayrequire occasional travel to off-site meetings, locally and/or nationally.
Reporting Center:
The duties of this position require the Candidate to periodically report to the DOE Forrestal Building in Washington DC.Remote work may be available for this position as workload or other conditions allow and will be negotiated at the time of appointment. These teleworking agreements, if accepted by both parties, are intended to be flexible and may change during the term of this appointment. Initial teleworking agreements are not guaranteed to remain unchanged and workload or other conditions may require the candidate to report full time to the designated DOE Reporting Center.
Travel Requirements:
Position may also require occasional travel to off-site meetings, locally and/or nationally.
