Valtir is currently looking to hire an Outside Sales Representative for our Southeastern US Territory to help develop and manage key accounts within those states.
Valtir has been an industry leader and global supplier of highway safety products for over 50 years. Working with industry partners and safety experts, Valtir continues to bring the next generation of innovative safety products to a dynamically changing market. Our products are specified, sold, and installed throughout North America and in more than 100 international markets. We are searching for a qualified and results-oriented individual to provide outstanding customer service through both sales and rental channels of our business by interacting with established customers and by developing new prospects in person, and occasionally on the telephone, at trade shows and through cold calls.
In addition, this role will include the oversight of multiple distribution partnerships, tracking of projects and inventory, overall business and product development- working closely with architectural, engineering and design firms regarding product specification and acceptance.
Location: Remote – Candidates living in the Charlotte or Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill areas.
This position requires the sales professional to work from their home based office when not traveling the territory
What You’ll Do
• The Outside Sales Professional will report directly to the Regional Manager and will be instrumental in supporting the business plan through profitable revenue generation • The Sales Professional's primary responsibility is to serve our customers timely through the sale and rental of Valtir's products and services, and coordinate these various accounts efficiently to grow the business through outstanding customer service, customer and project visits and sales call related efforts governing the Southeastern US, with a focus on the Carolina’s which may be expanded to bordering states • Telephone prospective customers and solicit business • Attend Regional conferences and seminars • Maintain contact with and act as a liaison to existing and potential new customers and distributors • Work closely with Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative(S) and Dispatch • Remain in close communication with Service Team and Logistics to ensure deadlines are met • Work in harmony with distributors to meet customer expectations • Monitor rental and sales inventory and track project trends and product cycles • Inform customers of supply and price trends and prepare quotations • Negotiate prices with customers, within established limits • Secure, review, process, and expedite orders • Write orders, keep records, maintain files, and create reports on all phases of activities including sales recaps Track orders through the system until timely delivery of products • Provide input regarding forecast figures • Work with distributor sales team to improve efficiency of product offering and sales effort • Provide technical guidance to customers, project owners, and affiliates • Data-mine and research projects and bidding opportunities • Maintain Sales Records in CRM daily • Provide monthly sales call/expense report. Maintain all travel expenses and submit weekly for review and approval • Seek opportunities where new products or services are needed and communicate market trends to management • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience • 3 years sales experience, strong planning, problem-solving, and negotiation skills • Experience in the construction industry and sales and customer service success in either vertical, commercial, or highway/traffic safety is a plus • equipment rental experience with an emphasis on safety related products is a plus• Experience with reading civil, site, maintenance of traffic and phasing plans, and familiarity with construction schedules is a plus • Ability to work on a flexible schedule, which may include extended work hours •
This is an in the field position- Travel is required with a target of 4 days per week in the field
- Proficient computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRM platform
• Strong leadership, motivational, and interpersonal skills • Ability to multi-task • Ability to work on a team and independently • Experience in Traffic Safety, understanding of MUTCD standards is a plus • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
