Our client, a US-based retail company, is seeking for Director of Operations. The Director of Operations or Integrator is the main driver for operational effectiveness and efficiency within the organization. They are responsible for aligning the company's vision and goals with the actual strategies and tactics the company employs. They act as a buffer between the co-founders and the rest of the team when it comes to tactical decision-making.
The Integrator is able to look at the company's goals and align them with strategic planning, KPIs, and tactical assignments. They are responsible for building out the operational team and maintaining accountability to achieve the target KPIs and goals set forth by the company.
On a day-to-day basis, the Integrator is the ultimate problem solver for any roadblocks that may arise for the wider team. If an issue is unable to be solved at any management layer, then the Integrator will take decisive action to ensure the team is able to continue operating at its highest ability. In order to do this, the Integrator must have intimate knowledge of the company's goals, operational capabilities, and a clear understanding of how each team works together to create company success.
Resposibilities:
● Integrator
- Oversee the operations of the brand
- Ensure company actions are in line with company goals and that each team is working together to drive company success
- Maintain accountability within the management team to ensure working towards agreed annual and quarterly goals
- Serve as a champion of organizational culture, influencing culture change to support enterprise growth.
- Maintain effective working relationships with executives across the company to drive performance towards the group's strategic plans.
- Serve as the executive sponsor for operational process management, driving alignment between departments, managers, and executive leadership.
- Ensure all departments are able to perform their primary functions effectively.
- Review that the company vision and goals are being achieved through operational objectives.
- Liaise with internal teams on a daily basis to ensure the projects and processes are continuously being built.
- Allow the department leaders to create their best selves and become the best in class in their field.
- Prioritize multiple initiatives to achieve the highest outcome of company goals
● Tactical
- Fill in for any member of the team as needed during times of crisis
- Replace any member of the team as needed to ensure company success
- Seek new team members to further expand the team as needed
- Work daily on improving systems, whether that's through templates, Asana improvements, up-skilling staff, automating redundant tasks, mind mapping processes, etc.
- Proven experience as a Director of Operations or in a similar senior leadership role, preferably in the retail or ecommerce industry.
- In-depth knowledge of ecommerce operations, logistics, supply chain management, and order fulfillment.
- Extensive experience in managing and optimizing ecommerce operations.
- Ability to prioritize initiatives within a commercial lens to achieve the best outcome for the targets.
- Systems-oriented.
- Can zoom out and dissect a department into processes that can be repeated at scale.
- Can focus on the big picture and build a department to achieve it.
- Strong experience in Amazon FBA and/or e-commerce.
- Solid understanding of financial metrics and necessary levers to pull to achieve goals.
- Solid understanding of supply chain processes. Strong digital marketing experience.
- Management experience working with a remote team across various time zones.
- Ability to motivate, manage, and inspire our workforce.
- Strong project management experience.
- Proficient in Google Sheets and Excel.
- Works well with others in a team environment while also able to work independently.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and thrive in a very dynamic environment.

- Experience working and communicating with executive leadership and external partners.

- Excellent proficiency in English (both spoken and written).
- Ability to plan and execute strategies independently that align with the organization’s goals and objectives. Proficiency in Asana, Slack, Excel, Google, Office, Loom.
