Engagement Associate | DarkSky International
POSITION SUMMARY
The Engagement Associate supports the DarkSky International Engagement Department by coordinating events, engaging with chapters and advocates, and assisting with various outreach activities. This full-time remote position requires working closely with the Engagement Manager and other team members to ensure the successful implementation of DarkSky’s mission. Responsibilities include event support, content creation, communication with constituents and team members, and general administrative support.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Support
- Assist in planning, organizing, MC'ing, hosting, and executing DarkSky events, including webinars, workshops, conferences, and community activities.
- Support logistics for events, ensuring smooth execution and positive participant experiences.
- Coordinate with vendors, speakers, and participants as required to ensure all event requirements are met.
Chapter and Advocate Engagement
- Engage with and support DarkSky advocates and groups worldwide, ensuring they have the resources and guidance to succeed in their local initiatives.
- Foster relationships and bridge gaps with advocates, helping to amplify their efforts and connect them with opportunities to advance DarkSky’s mission.
Communications
- Draft and distribute communications to advocates and chapters, including newsletters, emails, and social media updates as needed.
- Create or support the creation of visually appealing and informative materials. Proficiency in Canva or similar design tools is a bonus but not required.
- Maintain regular communication with team members and the Engagement Manager to keep everyone informed and engaged.
Reporting and Administration
- Assist in tracking and reporting on engagement activities, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Perform general administrative duties to support the Engagement Manager and other associates.
- Work with our CRM (NationBuilder) to manage constituent information and engagement activities.
- Maintain organized digital records of projects and all associated documents.
Growth and Development
- As the Engagement Associate matures, support the creation of processes and initiatives that enhance the Voice of the Constituent.
- Contribute to technological advancements and other projects that help the organization grow.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Marketing, Account Management, Engagement, Advocacy, or related efforts will be considered.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in Marketing, Communications, Operations, Sales, Outreach, or a related role.
- Proficiency with computer usage, including Google Suite or other similar tools.
- Proficiency in Canva or similar design tools is a bonus but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage time effectively.
- Interest in environmental conservation efforts and a desire to support the mission and growth of the organization.
- Office hours operate using Tucson time (Mountain Standard Time).
WORK HOURS, SCHEDULE, AND FLEXIBILITY
This position works weekdays. However, some evening or weekend events may require attendance to support events or meet deadlines. Some flexibility in scheduling exists if organization needs are adequately addressed.

SALARY
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,260.00 - $61,400.00 per year
