Overview: IBTCI is seeking a Project Assistant to support the programmatic, administrative and financial close out of the Global Health Technical Assistance and Mission Support (GH-TAMS) project in Washington, DC. GH-TAMS, a five-year contract funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), that provides USAID operating units working on health-related activities in headquarters and the field with access to high-quality technical, management, and USAID expertise to support health programs. GH-TAMS assists GH and missions with this expertise through short- and medium-term consultant services, supporting USAID’s global health strategic priorities: 1) Preventing child and maternal deaths; 2) Controlling the HIV/AIDS epidemic; and 3) Combating infectious diseases. The GH-TAMS Project is currently scheduled to end on January 14, 2025. The Project Assistant will serve on the GH-TAMS close out committed and support the implementation of GH-TAMS programmatic close out, transition planning, and coordination with the next project.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the GH-TAMS and IBTCI Close Out Team;
- Facilitate and support administrative closeout of project assignments;
- Maintain project trackers;
- Provide administrative support to Project Managers and GH-TAMS consultants (reviewing invoices and travel expense reports, etc.); and
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- One to three years of total work experience.
- Prior experience in project management.
- Well-organized, strong attention to detail, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Works well independently and in teams; pro-active in anticipating work requirements and problem solving.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, database use, and presentation software).
- Written and verbal fluency in English required; other foreign languages fluency is desirable.
Education:
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience and/or familiarity with USAID-funded projects; and
- Previous administrative experience, preferable with a USAID-funded project.
Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment. Currently the company is allowing for Hybrid work in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area. This can be updated by the company.
Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in U.S.A.; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
