This Engineering Business Manager of Low Carbon Solutions - Erosion Control position will assist in developing and executing a strategic business plan to develop, market and promote geosynthetic value added products (VAPs) within the designated region to increase sales and profitability.
The position will include the following:
- Direct leadership within the region to drive the technical marketing strategy and tactics to insure execution of the Business Plan with respect to VAP positioning and technical promotion.
- Coordination with the entire Low Carbon Solutions team including engineering business managers, research and development, engineering services, regional sales managers, marketing, manufacturing, and internal operations to coordinate execution of marketing and sales strategy for the Low Carbon Solutions VAPs.
- Encompass engineering, technical specifications, business development, marketing, project management, construction, overall coordination efforts and support for sales.
- Contribution to efforts that increase differentiation and profitability, including assistance with innovative engineering, product development and testing, market channel improvements, etc.
- Collaboration with the Low Carbon Solutions team in achieving the maximum promotion to achieve corporate sale and profitability objectives. The position has shared responsibility within the team to meet the objectives of the business plan set forth by the Company for the fiscal year.
- Building customer relations for maximum long-term growth. The position is responsible for relationship development at all levels, concentrated and regular customer support contacts and market feedback.
- Business market development of the Low Carbon Solutions - Erosion Control will concentrate on the infrastructure, environmental and natural resource market sector applications, which includes (but not be limited to):
Flood Control (channels, levees, canals, etc.)
Roadways
Railroads
Renewable Energies
Coastal Protection
Natural Resource Mitigation/Restoration
Commercial and Residential Construction
Reclamation
Steep Slope Stabilization
Ultimately the position will be the “face” of the Solmax Civil Infrastructure Division within the region by establishing rapport with industry associations (IECA, ASCE, FMA, etc.), and both the private and public infrastructure, environmental and natural resource communities including:
Owners/Developers
Engineering Consultants both Civil & Geotechnical
Flood Control Districts
State and Federal Regulatory Agencies (USACE, Environmental - Water and Natural Resources, Fish & Wildlife, etc.)
State & Local DOTs
Public Works Departments
Contractors
Distribution
The role will be incentivized on annual sales of all domestic (U.S.)Low Carbon Solutions - Erosion Control VAPs within the region.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, biosystems engineering, environmental science, natural resources, or other relevant technical field of study.
Ability to attain Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ), or other relevant certification.
3+ years of experience in an engineering/technical capacity (design, technical specifications, bid documents, technical reports, construction support, etc.)
2+ years’ experience managing client relationships within the infrastructure, environmental and/or natural resources segments.
High level of business integrity.
Superior attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Assistance in or the preparation of engineering business development plans, statements of qualifications (SOQs), technical proposals, etc.
Ability to influence, present to, and build relationships with team members, engineers, customers, and industry influencers.
Superior project management, communication, interpersonal, businesswriting, analytical, problem solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
OTHER:
Ability and willingness for frequent (50%±) domestic travel and residing on projects for short periods of time as necessary.
Permanent residence within a reasonable commute of a major / international airport.
Possessing or obtaining a vehicle conducive to accessing remote sites located on challenging terrain.
No physical limitations that might preventor restrict traverse of typical sites within the infrastructure and environmental natural resource market segments.
